YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY “Card Production Ordered”

by on Jul.25, 2009, under Information, News

I485 Approval and WelcomeThis has been the best week ever! As I see my wonderful husband has already posted about how excited we are about the immigration process being done for now. It has been such a smooth ride for us, we feel very fortunate that all has gone so well, so smooth and so fast! I am so proud of him and how strong he has been through this process, he has been my rock! I love him with all my heart, and am so glad to know that he is here to stay, we can travel when we are ready to travel, and hopefully this will also make getting work easier for him being a permanent resident! I also want to thank both of our families for all their love and support because without them, we could never have gotten this far. We are very lucky to have each other and the support of our family.

Awesome News

by on Jul.21, 2009, under News

We just received the most awesome news since I have come to the USA.
It has been 139 days since we filled our immigration papers and I have been granted permanent residency status in the USA and my Greencard has been ordered, should receive it in the mail shortly.
Our immigration interview went really well yesterday and all the staff there were fabulous and very friendly. The whole immigration process has been very smooth for us and couldn’t have done it without my superwife’s help. The lady that interviewed us was very nice and laughed and joked around with us and made us feel very good about the whole ordeal.
We are both very glad the process is over for now, we don’t have to do anything now for the next year and a half. After that time I can apply to have any conditions lifted on my residency status.
What this all means for us:

  • If we were to travel back to Australia or visit another country I am automatically granted access to re-enter the USA.
  • If I were stupid enough to do something silly in USA I would no longer be deported back to Australia.
  • I have a much higher chance of finding employment being that I am now a permanent resident of USA.

Immigration Update

I received a letter yesterday from immigration regarding our application for my permenent residency status asking us to come in for an interview. This is absolutely fantastic news. The appointment is for July 20th, 2 months away. After that as I’m certain it will all go just fine I should be granted permenent residency status an allowed to stay in the USA indefinately an come and go as we please. I can hardly wait and am not the least bit anxious. I’ll keep y’all posted as to the result, we are nearing the end of my immigration journey.
Wish me luck!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaa,

My Employment Authorization Card (EAD) just arrived in the mail.

This is awesome news for us both, this means that I am now authorized to work in the USA. I can now go get a job. This shouldn’t be too hard for me I have never found trouble getting work as a qualified chef, and even though there is a lot of unemployed people in the united states I am still confident I will have no trouble getting work.

I am very excited to finaly be able to legally work here and we can now get on with our life, I’ll keep you all posted as to how I’m going looking for work, so wish me luck. Better get off my ass and get a real job. :)
